College of Commissioner Science (CCS) is a comprehensive, one-day, training event for Scouting America (BSA) volunteer commissioners. It provides specialized training to help commissioners effectively support local units through networking, best practices, and updated techniques.

Training Levels: The curriculum follows an academic structure, often including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs in Commissioner Science.
Curriculum: Topics cover unit service, retention, technology tools, and leadership.
Structure: It often involves in-person or virtual, full-day training, including multiple sessions and, in some cases, a thesis for the doctoral degree.
Purpose: To improve the service provided to packs, troops, and crews by enhancing the skills of commissioners beyond basic training.
These colleges allow volunteers to stay current with Scouting America tools, improve unit health, and learn new skills.
The college is hosted by Orange County Council in collaboration with several Southern California councils.
